The Bridge to Rangitahi
Exciting plans for the new bridge are underway!
This will provide access for people to explore the many walkways, cycling tracks and dream like paths through the bush to be found on the Rangitahi Peninsula.
This new exciting ‘gateway’ can be found in Raglan West, connecting the headland of
Opotoru Rd with the Rangitahi Peninsula.
At the moment, the current bridge is a one lane structure and is only accessible to vehicles at medium to low tide.
But this isn’t just going to be your average bridge people.
It will be a piece of art in itself!
A local Architect has created something pretty special on the side facade’s. We can’t wait for the unveiling!
The Bridge has been well thought out, with great respect for the natural estuarine environment.
The Rangitahi Peninsula is set to be a perfect model for sustainable urban living, a neighbourhood of both weekenders and full time residents with reserves, a few local shops, and even a ‘produce to plate’ style restaurant.
The building of the bridge will commence in 2017, with a full management plan in place to minimise construction traffic.
