Why this young couple, Jack and Paige made the move from Auckland to the quieter pace of life in Raglan

When Jack and Page first moved to Raglan they told us about the pressure of Auckland living and financial strain due to high rental prices and lengthy delays on every commute. Eventually making the move out of Auckland became a no-brainer.

They are now loving the Raglan lifestyle and are well settled in. Paige grew up in the Waikato and Raglan was always the town to get away to enjoy the relaxed and happy vibe so seamlessly. Jack loves to surf and grew up in West Auckland near Piha, the west coast feels like home to him so Raglan was an easy choice for the both of us. It has everything we need, to settle down and Rangitahi seemed like a great opportunity to buy a section that would give us the chance to build our new home right by the water… We wouldn’t be able to afford that in Auckland! Moving to a small town has definitely simplified life and we still pinch ourselves at how great life has become since moving here and are super happy with our decision to do so.

It was definitely a change in pace moving to Raglan from "the big smoke" and it took some time for the internal grind to simmer. We have enjoyed becoming part of a small community.

We love the community feel, the open minded people here and getting involved with community driven events. We have two dogs and a toddler so always make time to explore new walking tracks with them. Jack loves to surf and Paige has a new found love for Pilates, thanks to Eden at her Raglan studio, Lifted. We enjoy the simple things in life, especially a coconut flat white from one of the few coffee spots in town.

When we first started looking at moving to Raglan buying into a new urban sustainable neighbourhood really appealed to us and we like that the Rangitahi developers are encouraging interesting buildings that fit within the Raglan landscape. We also felt that this would help protect our asset hoping we wouldn’t be amongst substandard suburban homes and would encourage people to think outside the box when designing their homes to make every home unique.

Buying land on Rangitahi was a perfect opportunity to create a show-home to show case the quality workmanship Hoult Construction pride themselves on. And it has given us a great opportunity to work with some amazing suppliers and local Raglan tradesman. We are excited to show it off in the coming months!

Before starting Hoult Construction Jack was a project manager in Auckland managing large commercial jobs. We now are a residential and commercial construction company based in Raglan and have been operating for 5 years. We pride ourselves on delivering quality homes and making the build process as stress free as possible for our clients. Ensuring there is good communication with the client, and we are nurturing a positive culture throughout our workplace. It's cool to see the boys' pride themselves on high quality workmanship.

At the end of the day, we want to build amazing houses and leave our clients stoked with the finish product.

We currently have a house and land package listed that we are really excited about. Looking forward to taking on some more new build projects and deliver some amazing homes to future clients. Give us a hollah!
